Jennifer Chen, a rising 3L from Villanova University, is spending her summer as a law clerk at High Swartz LLP in Montgomery County. Jennifer joins the firm eager to deepen her understanding of transactional law and plans to stay in the Philadelphia area after graduation.
A Global Path to Pennsylvania
Jennifer was born in Shenzhen, China and spent her early years living in New Zealand and England before returning to China to study Mandarin. For high school she crossed the Atlantic to New Hampshire, where she attended Proctor Academy. There, she discovered a passion for equestrian and skiing.
From Boston to the Philadelphia Bar
Jen earned her Bachelor's degrees in History and Psychology from Boston University. Her pre-law experience, which she’ll continue here at High Swartz, is practical and varied. She interned with the City of Philadelphia Law Department and spent time at Morgan Lewis in their IP Litigation department, giving her a look at legal work across the public and private sectors.
"I am excited to join High Swartz this summer because of the firm's full-service practice and the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of legal matters. I look forward to learning from the attorneys at the firm and further developing my legal research, writing, and advocacy skills through practical, firsthand experience."

Giving Back Across Borders
Outside the classroom, Jennifer completed a mentorship program supporting students in rural China who have shown an interest in continuing their education. She hopes that her insight can encourage some to potentially explore everything that life has to offer.
Her Work at High Swartz LLP
Jennifer is drawn to transactional law and sees High Swartz's full-service practice as the right place to get her footing. She feels that now is the best time to get an idea of the various different practice areas.
We are glad to have her this summer!
