Christina was placed with the firm through the Montgomery Bar Association's Diversity Program

Christina Kingsberry, a rising 2L at Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law, is spending her summer as a law clerk at High Swartz LLP in Montgomery County. Christina was placed with the firm through the Robert E. Slota Jr. Diversity Program, organized by the Montgomery Bar Association.

Philadelphia Roots

Christina grew up in the Mount Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia and attended the William Penn Charter School. After graduating, she headed to Atlanta and attended Spelman College earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Public Health. There, she laid the groundwork for a future driven by a passion for science, health equity, and community impact.

Christina then pursued graduate studies at Columbia University in New York City, earning a Master of Arts in Narrative Medicine, a discipline that brings together writers, artists, scholars, activists, and healthcare professionals to improve patient and provider experiences.

From Medicine to Law

During her time at Columbia, Christina found herself weighing whether to pursue an MD or take a different path toward creating meaningful change. She chose law, enrolling at Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law, where she saw an opportunity to put her background to work in ways that could reach further and touch more lives.

Fellowships and a Commitment to Equity

Christina served as a Senior Fellow with HBCUvc, an organization dedicated to opening pathways into venture capital and tech investing for Black investors and other historically excluded communities. Since 2017, HBCUvc has generated more than 150 paid internships and launched new careers for emerging Black investors, helping fuel economic growth and increased funding for Black entrepreneurs.

Last summer, Christina was a Fellow and later a Special Project Manager with Goodie Nation of Atlanta. The organization works to close the relationship gap for diverse tech entrepreneurs, helping founders make the right connections at the right time.

"This summer, I am looking forward to gaining hands-on legal experience and learning about a variety of legal matters. I am especially excited to be working with the amazing team at High Swartz."
