Richard C. Sokorai is an equity partner at High Swartz and concentrates his practice in trials, appeals and legal advice on behalf of business entities, municipalities and individuals in municipal, commercial, and tort matters. Significant cases that Rich has handled include disputes over control of closely held corporations, franchise disputes, claims for breach of fiduciary duty for both non-profit and for profit corporations, construction disputes, ordinance validity challenges, zoning and land use appeals and large tort cases. Rich has tried cases in state courts, federal courts and boards of view, as well as administrative courts such as the Environmental Hearing Board and the Public Utility Commission.
Rich serves as Township Solicitor for Newtown Township, Delaware County, and has handled special counsel and hearing master roles for multiple municipalities in litigation, zoning and land use matters. Additionally, Rich represents soldiers in military employment and reemployment rights cases and represents individuals in protection from abuse actions. Rich received his B.A. from Temple University and his J.D., cum laude, from Temple University School of Law. Rich is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Military Service
Rich retired from the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in 2001 after 31 year of service, initially as a cavalryman for 18 years before joining Judge Advocate General Corps in 2007. Rich retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and still represents soldiers in military and military related matters.
