As chair of the Pro Bono Committee, Shari R. Gelfont Williams presented the Arthur B. Walsh, Jr. Bucks County Bar Association Pro Bono Publico Award to Amir M. Stark on December 1, 2022.
Pro Bono work insight from Shari
Attorneys have a unique opportunity to represent those who otherwise couldn’t afford legal services on a pro bono basis. Amir's dedication to pro bono work demonstrates what all attorneys should aspire to; use their law degree to better their community.
When assigning pro bono clients to Amir, the Legal Aid staff fully trust his ability to handle difficult cases and clients, including cases involving allegations of abuse of children and C&Y investigations.
As of early November 2022, Amir has devoted over 160 hours to 46 plaintiffs in protection from abuses cases YTD. In 2021, he devoted over 187 hours to 57 plaintiffs in protection from abuse cases.
Based on feedback from his pro bono clients, it is clear that he gives respect and attention to his pro bono clients in the same way he treats his private clients – his pro bono clients have said he is kind, helpful and attentive. This is not an easy feat – especially when he often represents survivors of domestic violence who are in the midst of extremely stressful situations. Amir understands how important pro bono service is to ensure that the justice system is operating in a fair manner.
Congratulations Amir and thank you for your diligent work and service to the Bucks County community.
