Attorney John S. Han Joins High Swartz LLP's Norristown Law Office

High Swartz LLP is pleased to welcome criminal defense attorney John S. Han to the firm. John brings his private practice experience as founder of Han Law in Plymouth Meeting. Prior to entering private practice, John served for 15 years as a federal prosecutor in the Organized Crime and Gang Section of the United States Department of Justice.

John represents clients facing investigation and prosecution by State or Federal Law Enforcement authorities for criminal violations, such as violent crimes, racketeering, drug offenses, and homicide. John also represents clients facing military proceedings including courts-martial, Administrative Separation Discharge Boards, and Article 32 Preliminary Hearings.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, John arrived in the U.S. at an early age. He later graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in economics and received his J.D. from the American University, Washington College of Law in 1993. Prior to graduating law school, John accepted a commission as an officer in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps and served on active duty from 1993 to 1999. From 2000 to the present, he has continued his military service in the United States Navy Reserve. From 2010 to 2014, he served as a Military Trial Judge for the Navy-Marine Corps Trial Judiciary.

From 2000 to 2006, John was an Assistant DA at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. During this time, he prosecuted a myriad of complex cases involving public corruption, fraud, white-collar crime, and violent crime, including leading grand jury investigations and scrutinizing allegations of police misconduct.

In 2006, John joined the United States Department of Justice as a Trial Attorney in the Organized Crime and Gang Section. The OCGS is a specialized group of prosecutors charged with developing and implementing strategies to disrupt and dismantle the most significant regional, national and international gangs and organized crime groups.

During his time there, John investigated and prosecuted major federal RICO and Violent Crimes against groups and gang members. In particular, John was successful in prosecuting members of the Philadelphia La Cosa Nostra Family while navigating complex financial investigations.

In 2021, John founded Han Law in Plymouth Meeting where he defended serious state and federal crimes against his clients. John is admitted to the bar in PA, New York, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of PA, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
