Equitable Distribution of Complicated Marital Assets and Liabilities

A complicated asset case may involve parties of modest means with assets and liabilities that are difficult to divide. Or a complicated case may involve an estate of such magnitude that the parties seek vigorous advocacy to achieve a fair result. In every case, client cooperation with one’s lawyer and constructive involvement by the client will foster effective communication while the issues are identified and valued. It is appropriate to talk to one’s attorney about the cost-effective resolution of division of complicated assets. In modest asset or large liability cases, a practical approach is often warranted. In the cases involving high value assets, the lawyer will recommend the client enlist a forensic accountant or financial planner so the client has the benefit of expertise beyond the scope of advice a lawyer can provide. Our lawyers encourage clients to participate in the strategy to achieve the most favorable result under the facts of your case.
